Had to smile here. "DigitalEro is kind of dead is it not?" I got on my DA pm. Well! The last time DE was down, I woke up to over 300 pms asking why the site was gone. That was only 2 days. So no! It is not dead. Like most site communities, the silent crowd makes up the member numbers. And you have the small percentage that is active.

For any wishing to know, there seems to be a way to actually still find an addon that’s hidden. Find it in your addons tab ingame, it’ll be red and say "hidden". Click the title to open the webpage, paste it somewhere but then copy the numbers, open your steamapps workshop folder, open the 4000 folder, paste the number into the search bar and you’ll find it. Then you’ll be able to open and extract.

No guarantee this’ll work forever.

how I have been saving addons I can’t live without

I’ve been using that to back up addons I want to save or ones I know could get deleted, but I didn’t know for sure there was a way to salvage the ones you still had that had gotten deleted until I tried it just now once one finally did.

But even though a red one links to a page that says file deleted it still helpfully has the number to search in the address bar. Wish I had thought of that sooner. Could’ve helped Rastifan and countless others as well as salvage other things I wanted to keep.
