@ TheGamerSeal, Mass Effect is one of the greatest Sci-Fi RPGs ever made. Your choices carry over from game to game, and it’s got an excellent soundtrack, characters, story, etc

If you can, buy the Legendary Edition on Steam when it goes on sale. if you do, and you play through all three games, make sure you leave the "Citadel" DLC for last. It’s a perfect send-off to the series

@ asdewfces, Quality hair is an issue with source. Garry boasted about raising the poly count for the engine. Would certainty benefit the porters if he kept his promises for once.

@ TheGamerSeal, The later games read your save files from the previous one. So when yhou boot up Mass Effect 2, it asks if you’d like to import your save from ME1. Your character, appearance, choices, and romance all carry over. Same for starting up ME3

You see people making stuff by giving instruction and it makes it via compiling from its database. Ranging from alright to pretty damn good except for maybe some tells. Can really work especially for someone who might not have the money for commissions but wants to see something that otherwise wouldn’t be made.

But in the hands of an actual creator it can be used to streamline by just cutting through a lot of the very time-consuming parts of it like the example above. I can only imagine the nightmare and the sheer amount of time to blonde the black hair texture on your own.

I could be wrong, but I think a lot of the AI hatred - at least here - is directed not at the AIs themselves, but the people who make art with them and call themselves artists; it’s like going to the doctor and telling him what’s wrong with you, and he uses Google to find the cause. I also recognize that AI isn’t flawless, even if you devote a great deal of time to your prompts, but I think the majority of hate is towards the "artists".

AI is a great tool, not a replacement. People use it as a replacement against artists, who are both no longer paid for work and have their art stolen by the algorithms as a result. That’s my problem with it, at least.

True, here it is a lot more level-headed. I’ve seen way too many takes of "it is 100% bad and you’re the worst person for using it ever." Although I will argue if it’s meant for shitposting or as a supplement it shouldn’t really be an issue that you used it. I remember there have been some things where they did use it but it was nowhere near the majority of the work, but that little use invalidated the entire work in their eyes.

I remember there was an animator who used AI voices for a thing he did because he was not in a place to afford any kind of VA work. It was meant to be a showcase of his animation skills so it really shouldn’t have mattered anyway, but people jumped on him for having used the voices at all, like he was the most evil person on earth for having done so.

@ Undyingbroccoli, Artist using Ai as assistance was never the issue. But hacks using Ai only and calling themselves artists while trying to sell their slop on Patron is. And the biggest beef people have with Ai images is the massive global art theft it relies on to function.

One 3D artist on Twitter (he was decent) shifted to Ai only as he didn’t have time to render that much, but still wanted to create. He lost almost all of his watchers. He had the honesty to blame himself before deleting the account. Said going over to Ai pretty much ruined the good run he had. He wished he never got tempted in the first place.
