@ Redjack, Quick question, is the normal human arm’s elbow joint supposed to have a weird angle when using Ragdoll Mover or is that possibly an issue on my end? ’cause the robot arm’s joint angle is fine. Seems to be a carryover from UB’s original Red Sonja model too

@ DrSchootz, In the Ragdoll Mover panel, up at the top, do you have the two boxes for local position and angle checked or unchecked? If they’re unchecked, then all movement is aligning with the map’s axes and you want to make sure your model is facing one of the cardinal directions before making adjustments; if they’re checked, then you’re moving the model based on the model’s own defined axes.

@ DrSchootz, In other words, if the skeleton hasn’t been put together very well, or if the arms start at non-horizontal angles, you’re just better off aligning the model to a cardinal direction, making your adjustments, and then rotating the model as a whole to your liking.

@ DrSchootz, If you’re not familiar with a map’s cardinal directions, you can run "sv_cheats 1;setang 0 0 0" to face... north? South? One of those. The "setang" command’s values would be as follows...

@ DrSchootz, First number dictates looking up and down, and has a range of -90 (looking straight up) to 90 (looking down); the second number is rotation, and thus has a range of 0 to 359, though if you’re trying to turn clockwise, you’ll want to use negative values for this number; and the third is roll, which you can manually adjust there, or just hold right-click with the camera SWEP and rotate like that for a temporary angle.

@ DrSchootz, I rarely use tools unless it’s for hands. I know the arm is a bit different than the rest of the model, tbh I rushed those screenshots to release. Been a bit dry here lately and want to keep the dream alive

@ TheGamerSeal, I’ve always had those boxes checked since i first subscribed to the addon back in 2020 (yeah i checked, i didnt realize ive been playing for 5 years now) and i never really found out what it did other than it makes the gizmo’s alignment wonky if i had it unchecked

But yeah, i guess technically @ Redjack’s method is better since its simpler. I just never thought about it since i cheated and immediately started Gmod with the Ragdoll Mover. i never got a taste for posing ragdolls using the physgun like the ye olde days, so to speak

@ Redjack, For real, i thought with the type of hinge on her elbow would only allow it to be moved along one axis but the clipping is so good to the point where its still possible to move it to the side a bit. Texture work is amazing too, the little warning labels and text adds a lot. Where was it from?

My... GOD... it took WAY too damn long to set this up. Please, enjoy the excruciatingly harvested fruits of my labor so I can feel like I didn’t just waste a full hour of my life making these simple little pieces of shite. @ DrSchootz, *adjusts reading monocle* Well, let’s have a look, shall we? So, that actually is me to the left, using ActMod and doing one of the dances. The spriggans are actually playermodels, with a minor edit by me, so with the use of the Animated Props addon, I can get them to do the same dance. From there, it’s just a matter of getting the repetition of the movement down and potting the little buggers.

Ever been knee deep in the adjusting part of the render so you dont save your work since its all just supposed to be "minor" fixing only to crash the whole game and having to restart because you fat fingered "poster 23" causing the game to render an image 23 times larger than 1920x1080?

It really is. Im subscribed to Ziki and ive gotten several models ported by him, but his low price means his queue is absolutely enormous. Took me 8 months since the request to get my order done, and through no fault of his own neither since the guy makes a release every 8 to 15 days .Thats why im learning Blender. Both for porting and to prepare moving on from Gmod, just grabbed SourceOps a few days ago and its been a blast learning

If there’s one thing to like about using old software, its how big and comprehensive the support structure is (or was). Theres a huge collection of tutorials and software today that most people didnt have just 4 years ago.I cant imagine tinkering with the porting process without a tool fully integrated inside Blender itself. It even mirrors to HLMV!
