@ Undyingbroccoli, definitely not a fan of the new changes to the ragdoll mover. Seeing all thr connecting bones when pointing at a bone is unnecessary and distracting

The most recent Gmod update definitely broke something, both for the workshop and the github ragdoll movers. In addition to the selection bug that UB shared a few days ago, im also getting error LUA calls left and right, props refusing to be moved and the gizmo crashing during map load.

I haven’t messed with GMOD too much but I have noticed that since the update just loading into a map is slow and it’s like it goes unstable when it’s loading. Ingame afterwards is fine but clicking through it will have it gray out like it’s not responding. I’m also hearing for others they’re not able to get in at all which I wonder if it’s they’re clicking and not waiting or if I just got lucky and am one of the few who can load in.

Those discussions about not being able to load in are being deleted, by the way. I noticed some were locked and now they’re gone.

@ d4rthv00rh33s, I havent met that issue so far, only from Left4Dead2 maps which i’ve never been able to succesfully load into anyways since when i first started playing gmod

Also, low light low brightness, multiple light source environments are KICKING my ass. I just cannot for the life of me figure out how to give clarity to the image without making everything looking too bright everytime i add supporting lights

@ Rastifan, Those errors in my pack are motion/animation models, not actual models so theyre not really an issue.

Ah okay. For me it was always broken since i got that pack back in December. And those type of animation models have always been broken for me anyways, has been for a long time with various models from the workshop (Star Wars CG pack, Resistance pack, Half-Life Alyx packs, etc)

Also, custom shadows? Most definitely would add a LOT. Im not good enough for that so i just do my best to do it all in game.

@ DrSchootz, I mostly do custom shadows in Gimp. I drawn them. It takes practice. But no real need if you do a all in GMod pose.

But corporation 3D work into game screens... knowing how to do shadows manually makes it look much better. Why I spent all those hours on the online tutorials, Gimp, PS, Arerage and so on.

Also, about using a mix of 3D space from other games, how do you line up your gmod pose to the space itself? I get the custom drawn shadows and masking, but its the alignment i dont get

Oh where to start! Learn how to use the editing tools (this is essential), learn how to use your eye. See the entire scene you want to create in it’s fullness. I can write a entire 100 page tutorial on this, but it wont help that much. It is all about training and repetition until you get it looking decent. Lear to understand the GMod tools like post processing and how it can help you. Additional tools like glow came from the Gmod screen shot

An example referring to your question! You can use any prop to attach the glow tool to. The rest is adjustment in Gimp or any edit tool of your choice.

The bench scene had a lumination to it in the game. I used this trick to make the Gmod screen fit it.
